International arbitration in Japan is governed by the Japanese Arbitration Law that came into effect on March 1, 2004 (the “Arbitration Law”), to which no legislative amendments were made in 2014.
A.2 Trends and Tendencies
The Japan Commercial Arbitration Association (“JCAA”) amended its Commercial Arbitration Rules, which came into effect on February 1, 2014. Please refer to section C below for details of the Rules.
