In appropriate cases, the Federal Arbitration Act ("FAA") empowers a "United States district court" to compel arbitration, and empowers the "United States court in and for the district" where the award was made to enter judgment upon an arbitral award.[1] In international cases falling under the principal conventions, the "district courts of the United States" have competence to compel arbitration and to confirm awards.[2] None of these provisions mentions the bankruptcy courts.
