The Tribunal's Appointment - Chapter 2
Gerald Aksen is a full time arbitrator and ADR neutral. He is a retired Partner of the law firm Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner LLP, New York, where he was the firm specialist in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. He is a former President of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and immediate past Vice Chair of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. He has chaired and acted as sole or co-arbitrator in ad hoc proceedings and under the rules of numerous institutions in over 200 cases worldwide. Mr. Aksen has a broad background in the dispute resolution field, having been an arbitrator, advocate, academic (Adjunct Professor, New York University School of Law) and administrator (General Counsel, American Arbitration Association), and is a frequent speaker and lecturer on international arbitration.
