I. PRESENT ATTITUDE TOWARD ENFORCEMENT OF FOREIGN MONEY JUDGMENTS

A. Describe the receptiveness of your government (including courts) toward enforcement of foreign money judgments.

Saudi courts have always welcomed the enforcement of foreign court judgments and arbitration awards as long as the judgments comply with Saudi public policy and fulfil the legal requirements stipulated by the Enforcement Law, especially proving the existence of reciprocal treatment by the country of the court where the court judgment was issued.

B. Briefly describe recent illustrative attempts, whether successful or unsuccessful, to enforce a foreign money judgment in your country, particularly with regard to the enforcement of any judgments from United States courts.

Foreign courts’ judgments from countries that recognise and enforce Saudi courts’ judgments are recognisable and enforceable, regardless of the place of issue of the judgment and whether both countries are members of a bilateral or multilateral treaty for reciprocal enforcement of court judgments, as seen below.

C. Describe any proposed legislation or other governmental action in your country that could significantly affect the enforcement of foreign money judgments.
