Romak has initiated this arbitration on the basis of allegations that Uzbekistan violated the Bilateral Investment Treaty entered into between the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Uzbekistan on the “Promotion and the Reciprocal Protection of Investments” dated 16 April 1993 (hereinafter, the “BIT”).
