The President of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, 

Having regard to article 27 of the Statute of the Tribunal, 

Having regard to article 59 of the Rules of the Tribunal, 

Having regard to the Order of the Tribunal of 23 February 1998 by which the Tribunal fixed the time-limits for the pleadings in the case, 

Whereas, in accordance with the said Order of 23 February 1998, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines filed its Memorial with the Registry of the Tribunal on 19 June 1998; 

Whereas, pursuant to the said Order, the time-limit for the submission of the Counter-Memorial of Guinea is 18 September 1998, 

Whereas the Agent of Guinea, by a letter dated 8 September 1998, referred to certain difficulties and requested a postponement by at least two months of the time-limit fixed for the submission of the Counter-Memorial of Guinea, 

Being satisfied that there is adequate justification for the request for an extension of the time-limit, 

Having ascertained the views of the parties, 

Extends the time-limit for the submission of the Counter-Memorial of Guinea to 16 October 1998; 

Reserves the subsequent procedure for decision by the Tribunal.
