In addition to the well-known benefits of mediation in virtually all types of disputes, mediation is perhaps the only forum in which an aggrieved party in a gender conflict case may hear the other person say, truthfully and sincerely, "I didn't understand how my conduct affected you; I understand now and I am truly sorry."
