Claimant, Link–Trading Joint Stock Company, is a US–Moldovan joint venture company established under the laws of the Republic of Moldova in July 1996. Its business consisted essentially of the import of consumer products into the Free Economic Zone of Chisinau (hereinafter “the FEZ” or “the Chisinau FEZ”) and their resale to retail customers, mainly Moldovan citizens, for their personal use.
