The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, a federal agency which enforces federal workplace anti-discrimination laws, has released two reports that strongly back the effectiveness of the video mediation trend that arose during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The studies, respectively involving EEOC mediation participants and neutrals, provide sweeping support for the effectiveness of video processes from both plaintiffs and employers, as well as the mediators who conduct the processes.

They carry implications well beyond the employee-employer mediation dynamic and setting to family and community, and, especially, B-to-B dispute resolution, where online processes made busy executives more accessible, and in turn displaced travel budgets.
