The Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Republic of Colombia, hereinafter referred to as the "Contracting Parties";

Desiring to intensify the economic cooperation to mutual benefit of both Contracting Parties;

Intending to create and maintain favorable conditions for the investments of investors of one Contracting Party in the territory of the other Contracting Party;

Recognzing the need to promote and protect foreign investments with the aim to stimulate individual business initiative and the foster the economic prosperity of both Contracting Parties;

Have agreed as follows:
