The Scottish Arbitration Centre is the home of domestic and international arbitration in Scotland.

Arbitration is a commercial, cost effective and confidential method of resolving disputes.  With the Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010, Scotland has a modern, innovative arbitration regime to rival any other.

Scotland offers a neutral, affordable, English-speaking, venue for international arbitration.  Arbitral appointments can be made by our independent appointments committee, which will appoint the most suitable arbitrators from around the world.

The Centre’s arbitration suites in Edinburgh are available to hire at very competitive rates for arbitrations, mediations and other dispute hearings, and for conferences and meetings regarding alternative dispute resolution.
Expertise & Experience:

The Scottish Arbitration Centre was opened by Fergus Ewing MSP, the Minister for Community Safety at the time, on 17 March 2011 in its premises at Dolphin House, Edinburgh.

It promotes arbitration to the Scottish business community as an effective alternative to litigation, and Scotland to the world as a place to conduct international arbitration.

The Centre is a non-profit company limited by guarantee, made up of the Law Society of Scotland, the Faculty of Advocates, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, and the Scottish Ministers.

With its distinguished legal tradition, innovative legislation and the Scottish Arbitration Centre, Scotland is well placed to compete as an attractive and cost-effective venue for arbitration on the global stage
