Established in 1996 as the international division of the American Arbitration Association, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution® (ICDR) is one of the most recognized and prominent providers of international dispute resolution services in the world. Key to this success is our Case Management Team, comprised of highly trained professionals from around the globe who, in addition to an in-depth understanding of ICDR International Arbitration Rules and Mediation Procedures, have a proven track record for moving matters forward, helping to control costs, and respecting cultural differences.

The ICDR emphasizes party choice where feasible, such as the ability to file under a number of sets of procedural rules and to choose where a dispute is held. ICDR procedures also encourage party input in selecting the appropriate arbitrator or mediator.

Expertise & Experience:

ICDR Services:

The ICDR handles matters involving cross-border transactions. The case management teams, fluent in the world’s business languages, have the know-how to facilitate administration of arbitrations, mediations, and other specially designed, industry-based international disputes. A worldwide panel of more than 650 independent arbitrators and mediators is available to hear and resolve the full range of offered services. Our process encourages party input into the selection of arbitrators and mediators for their case.

The ICDR has had record arbitration and mediation case filings over the past few years. Unless the arbitration clause states otherwise, arbitration and mediation users can choose a variety of options within the ICDR administrative structure including:

• Applicable procedural rules.
• Appointment methodologies.
• Language.
• Fee schedules.
• Online case access.

The ICDR also works closely with members of industry groups to create dispute resolution services tailored to meet their specific needs. These initiatives include specific procedures and expert panels of arbitrators and mediators reflective of industry practices.
