After little more than a year's experience with Expedited Arbitration, the nation's Steel Industry and the United Steelworkers of America have extended this experimental system for two years.

The parties have learned that it is a quick and economical way to resolve ordinary grievances not directly settled by the parties themselves. They have learned that the informal procedures are wholesome. The new arbitrators do a creditable job, and the effects on morale and productivity appear favorable.

In short, the expedited arbitration system is serving the parties' needs.
