The work performance of employees reinstated to employment by arbitrators in discharge cases— as viewed by their employers—is considered in this recently completed study. Although employers find that employees returning to normal progress, with good attitudes and few, if any, disciplinary problems, they are dissatisfied with the arbitrator's order of reinstatement.

Thus, the research supports the hypothesis that irrespective of the positive and practical results of the arbitrator's decision, employers continue to view the order to reinstate as unacceptable and wrong.
