MR. LAIRD: Okay. I guess we'll get started. I'll ask people to take
their seats and I'll welcome everyone back to our fourth and final panel of
the day. I think this is a very exciting topic. It's about emergency
measures, emergency relief in international arbitration, a very interesting
and up-and-coming topic, one that has really developed in international
arbitration only in the last few years, and we're seeing many of the arbitral
institutions now taking on these types of provisions, but there is a lot of
experience in this area in more domestic arbitration systems, and I think
we're going to hear about some of that.
 
But our moderator on this panel will be Anne Marie Whitesell, who is
a great friend of the ILI and the Director here, as well, of the Alternative
Dispute Resolution Center. She has the distinction of having just been
appointed professor and Faculty Director of the Program on International
Arbitration and Dispute Resolution at the Georgetown University Law
Center. And I want to actually congratulate her.

MR. LAIRD: I think Georgetown will be very well-served by her.
She's very experienced in the international arbitration field. She was
Secretary-General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration for many
years and Of Counsel for the law firm Dechert here in Washington, D.C.
So, it's a real pleasure to have Anne Marie on our final panel.
