The article that follows this commentary is written by two prominent corporate counsels, Michael McIlwrath and Roland Schroeder, who are among the best worldwide known experts in arbitration, though not acting as arbitrators. I must confess I may not be totally impartial in introducing their article as they both work for the General Electric Company, a company to which I devoted more than thirty unforgettable years of my career before becoming an independent arbitrator. They are also close friends of mine. Nevertheless, I will try to be as objective as I can.
